SUMMARY
Qatar consumer sentiments’ net positive position n July was short-lived with a drop in August of -2.1 basis points.
All indices contributed to the decline in overall sentiment with the most notable being employment with a -6.6 point drop after a 3-month growth run.
“Across most metrics, Qatar’s slower growth compared to other GCC nations has meant that it has continued to show positive sentiment gains since the shocks of early 2020 in an inconsistent trend.We’re seeing a strong sentiment towards employment, but business and economic worries remain and are more muted in their growth than the other measures”
August saw Qatar consumer sentiment slip back into a net negative position with a -2.1 basis point drop. The countries staggered incline to positivity continues to lag the other regional markets with low confidence in business and the larger economy.
